The never ending clutch cover oil leak
hi ive got a big oil leak from the clutch cover on a 99 sv650, i have so far replaced the seal, used sealent, and finally had the cover skimmed and oil still drips out. i have also noticed a blast of air coming from the oil top up hole when the bung is removed. i know the later one piece cover wont fit and im not sure that an alloy cover would help .
I am getting desperate, any idea's |

Stick a triumph badge on it?

Re: The never ending clutch cover oil leak
The cover's propbably damaged... Mine has a wee bit of a warp, but a wee bit of sealant did the job. Maybe another cheap cover is the way to go- it's very unlikely to be a problem with the inner casing.
The airflow from the oil filler hole is no worry, every time the pistons move it creates pressure differences in the cases, that's why we have crank breathers. |

Plus drag from the clutch will act like a big centrifugal fan, there's usually a lot of air movement inside the cases.
I'd also make sure you're tightening the bolts to the correct torque. |
