Any ideas on cost efficent mods?
 

I want to change the appearance of my SV a bit and make it my own sort of thing but as you know being in part time work and at college cant afford to go out and spend big but eventually one will, just after a few ideas of what i can do to change the appearance at a budget any ideas would be any ridiculous or sensible ideas would be appreciated?!

It's already pretty good looking tbh :smt025You could get polishing, that's free, but it's also generally pretty stupid and a gigantic pain in the a&&e in the long run.

Yeeeh i know but it looks the same as any other SV would fancy putting mesh in the holes in the fairings that'd look good i reckon and polish up all the foot rest paltes, and i'm doing my forks sprayed until i get enough money together for fork conversion. How much would it cost to spray the wheels?

Don't know about spraying, but we had ours powder-coated. 60,000 miles later they still look good:D

Mine were coated too... Think it was ?40 a wheel or thereabouts in a fairly pricey metallic, from the excellent BBS in Edinburgh. I reckon it makes more sense than paint, though paint does have the advantage that it's easy to repair if it gets damaged (whereas powdercoat is hard to damage but the coloured ones are basically impossible to repair invisibly, the coating just doesn't look the same as paint)

Coloured wheels are a very nice mod though, apart from Lissa's, AndyB had white wheels- lovely- and JimmyNumbers had his done in a near-perfect colourmatch, which worked fantastically with the blue.

They look nice mine have got a bit of damage where a bloody stone flicked up and hit the wheels. Is that about a basic price ?40 a wheel for powder coating?

I don't know how typical that is, Allan at BBS is a streetfighter builder as well as doing the coating business so bike parts tend to get a good price.

Tail tidy will help, make your own from the FAQ on the main site, makes the bike look a lot cleaner.

yeah and get this powder coated aswell, so chuck the wheels and the tailtidy in at the same, pay cash and you never know they might do a discount.

I've also been thinking about getting the wheel coated, but its either blue of gold :confused:
