New, hello. And September 2006
Hi, I'm new to the forum. Been lurking while I did my CBT, Theory and DAS. It didn't go smoothly or according to plan, but that's a different story. I've passed now and been riding for about a month. I got myself a K3 SV650 in blue. Quite love it.
I've been taking it to work however and do around 25 miles on the motorway each way. I'm finding the wind a bit of a chore and would like something to take the edge off it. I know you'll say I should have bought an "S", but I really love the look of naked bikes. I need to get a fly screen, specifically one of these: http://www.sv650.org/gallery/pic42/eric1.JPG I don't know if the owner still uses the forum? Anyone know what it is? Thanks very much. Nicky |

Looks like Puig do a nice looking one, some dude has posted pics on his blog page at http://fookstar.com/?q=node/232 (that page takes forever to load though, go and make a brew after clicking it).

Re: New, hello. And September 2006
Thanks for the replies people.
Maultin, you're right, it probably won't stop much wind, but it will deflect it, I'm only a wee dude, under 5'7 and believe it or not, found the K5 naked SV much easier in the wind with the tiny cowling it has. I figured that this one is a bit bigger so might work. The two in your links look cool, however, I would like one similar to the one in the pic I posted so that I can colour code a little. I've seen a few naked K3's with black screens and it looks to me that they appear somewhat out of place. Think it's OK on the later models with the black frame though. I'm not desperate to get rid of all wind, I know it's not possible and on reflection, I probably think that the bike looks like it has bits missing at the front with no cowling or screen so would like to remedy that anyway. I don't have to use the bike for commuting, it's not it's main function in my life. Durbs, you are right, that looks quite interesting also. Thankyou. ejohnh, do have any pictures of the type of screen you are selling? Also, if anyone else is reading this, I'd still appreciate finding out what make the one in the first link is....... Many SV'ers in Central Scotland? Or should I be posting that question elsewhere? Cheers Nicky |
