Which Bike?
I'm thinking of getting something different, but it must be able to do the job the SV currently does:
125 miles per week commuting, mainly A2 @ 60 and then some filtering. Be more economical than the SV. Have room for a pillion, not that often though. be a bit fun........ |

SV thou ? lol,

Re: Which Bike?
More economical!? Youll be lucky there! On a bad run a SV650 should be close to 45-50MPG... Ive had 70MPG! There arnt many 250-500's that can achieve the same tbh.
If you leave out economy then Aprilia Falco :D Still get 45-50MPG on a good run! :D |
Re: Which Bike?
My 6R wasn't noticeably different on fuel to my SV to be honest so an SS600 is possible. If you ride it at the same speed it will broadly do the same on fuel. Generally about 55mpg from the SV and 6R and 48 from my 10R. I don't think comfort is an issue over that mileage although I actually found it better for my back and right hand than the SV.
Fine for filtering. Can carry a pillion just about. Definitely fun. |
Re: Which Bike?
Personally i would say a ss600 doesn't really meet your requirements.
First bikes that spring to mind are Bandit/Hornet/Fazer, or something of that ilk. |

Filled up the SV today, 100 miles, 80 of which was on the motorway doing an average of 70 (honest occifer), the other 20 the commute into leeds. 8.3 liters burnt, that's the best fuel economy I've ever had out of it. |
