For the pointy (they may be the same);

Anybody got a steering stem tool like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUZUKI-STEERIN...QQcmdZViewItem

and/or a swing arm tool like this

Dude, if you are not happy using a blunt screwdriver and hammer like the rest of us, then just buy a appropriate size socket and grind the relevant bits down to make the prongs ... a single socket is what ?2-?7?? 10 mins with a grinder, hacksaw and file and you are done!! ;)

Normally totally happy with the blunt screwy etc but wondering if that might not be part of my problem with the steering I have. My finger in the air 'torque setting' might not be accurate enough. I might just try giving it another smack to tighten it a little further.

Only asked on the off chance that there may be some of these tools floating around the org.

right....off to fit the front brakes. :-) fun and games. I may be some time......

To be fair, the top yoke bearing castle nut will only needs to be just over finger tight ...

You should be able to do the final tighten by smacking the driver with the back of your hand ... unless you are a girly hand pussy!! :cat: :D

If you have used excessive smacking already, then it is probably too tight!! ;)

Get the front elevated and free ... and rock teh steering side to side, it should be 'free' and fall side to side by itself.

Then grab the lowers of the forks and try and pull back and forth ... if you hear a knock, tighten a bit more ... rinse and repeat ... you normally go a bit too far and knock it off back a bit ...
