Random insurance companies
 

So I have been ringing round today to sort out insurance for my new bike, I have an odd insurance history as although I have 4 years worth of NCB, half were in the UK half the US and not everyone would honour them.

MCE quoted the cheapest, even after saying that they wouldn't count any NCB.

To the point

Phoned MCE, had usual questions about bike and any other quotes:

MCE: Right well we won't be beaten (covers policy) If I am cheaper than the others will you take it out?
Me: Well I've just started rining round so if you are I'll call back tonight and sort it.
MCE: In that case I won't tell you the price, you can ring round then call back and I WILL beat the price. Otherwise you will just ring round and try to beat it.

Thought WTF, isn't that the point, course I will ring round, but if you are cheaper I will sort it today.

MCE: Nope still not telling you.
ME: OK cheers (sale lost there, I wan't going to be beggered about)

MCE: (About 20 mins later) Hi it's Becky from MCE, got your quotes yet? Ours is ?237, I told you we'd be cheapest didn't I?

Most bizarre selling technique ever, but did work as they were cheapest (includes legal/Breakdown and usual gubbins) So can pick the bike up Sat as long as I get my ground anchor in.
