Mothers day, ungrateful kids
So it is mothers day. What do my ungrateful brats do.
The sod only go and turn up, with their broods. If they had any consideration for their mother. They would have invited her for dinner. Not turn up here uninvited expecting to get fed. |
Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
See - I have due consideration for my parents and stay as far away as is possible.
I did send flowers though. |
Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
Mine, fortunately, have so far been conspicuous by their abscence. :D
Had a Happy Mother's Day call from my lad in Leek earlier. Nothing from older lad yet, but he's probably helping my grand-daughter make the day special for his partner Rachel, which is as it should be. My daughter is allegedly popping round later, maybe, possibly. |
Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
Whilst on the phone to my dad yesterday he told me it was mothers day today... So I called to say hi this morning. (In my defence it's not mothers day until May here, when she'll get a card :) )

Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
i got flowers yesterday, which is when I remembered it was mothers day. I am usually reminded by my kids, asking for money to buy me something but they spoke nicely to my bf and he ordered flowers for me from them.
phoned my mum to say I had forgotten but that flowers would be with her tomorrow. she had forgotten til I phoned - doh |
Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
I got my mum a card and a purple ronnie book "for lovely mums" (which I found rather amusing). Didnt bother with flowers as it was her birthday 10 days earlier so theres an invasion of flowers atm :D
But yeah, in my house, mothers day isnt a big deal - its all commercialised and as my mum puts it "you dont need one day to show your mum that you appreciate her/what she does/etc..." Maria |
Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
I made the trip up to my mother's house & gave her a nice present:
One slightly neurotic cat. I've legged it back to London before she realises why Artoo's been nicknamed Stinky. |
Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
My dad has been here fitting my new bog today, I spent rather a ot of yesterday grouting the bathrooom. My house has been a tip and I've had no water today. My little lad has been super, I've also spent time doing the art of expanding foam in the frame of my shed.garage.
I rang my mum after getting water this afternoon. She doesn't know my brother has planned a nice meal for her in his pub tonight. I won't be going and made sure she knows(in a round about fashion without giving the game away) that i won't be attending, cause i'll still be up to my armpits in stuff til well into this evening She said ooooo I know what you mean i haven't stopped all day, its nice to stop and have a chat, I'll pop up with some cake tomorrow and we can have a nice afternoon.......aaaawww mums aren't they brill |
Re: Mothers day, ungrateful kids
Well, I did my daughter a dis-service. She turned up with not only a card but a LARGE box of Ferrero Rocher:D
