2 piece leathers compatibility question
Thinking of buying a new set of leather pants at this weekends Scottish show, however a bit concerned that if I buy a set, the zip might not match with my jacket. I wouldnt have had any concerns just to look for a full zip, but a few people have told me that they were surprised that my leathers zipped together properly as they are 2 different makes.
So are they talking rubbish or do the full length zips really do vary from manufacturer to manufacturer? |

Re: 2 piece leathers compatibility question
I have just bought Richa trousers & jacket and the small zip goes together, but the full zip on the jacket is a thicker zip to the full trouser zip.....the zip will probably be one of two, either a thin zip (similar to a jacket) or a thick zip......then just measure the length of your zip and see if you can get a match.

Re: 2 piece leathers compatibility question
Apparently HG will triple stitch in a new zip to match jackets to trousers etc, no idea what they charge for it though.

Re: 2 piece leathers compatibility question
I would definitely check. My ex had a Dainese jacket and trousers and they didn't fit as they were 2 different models even though it was the same manufacturer - One zip was longer than the other!

Re: 2 piece leathers compatibility question
Put the jacket in a small back pack. Handy for carring brochures and other crap too so you have two hands for fiddleing with stuff on stands.

Re: 2 piece leathers compatibility question
My HG jacket zips into my Lewis trousers (both textile) perfectly with no alterations or additional zips...
