remember to check your oil guys
other wise you bike will blow up 200 miles from home.
then the rac man will tell you your not covered to get it home... then the aa people will send 5 people to try and fixed a seized engine at a service station. this will result in 16 hours of waiting for recovery, 1 ****ed engine, and a big hole in your pocket where money used to be. lesson learned? 1. even if you did check your oil 2 weeks ago, and it was full, it can still use it all. 2. the oil light will come on after you have done irreparable damage to your engine, but not before. :( i hate myself right now. |
Re: remember to check your oil guys
You're not the only one who's done it, theres a few on here that have done the same.
This might cheer you up a wee bit, you can find 2nd hand SV motors for a lot less money than the cost of getting your current lump rebuilt.. so it might not be a total disaster cash wise. Best of luck getting it sorted. |

not me by the way, is my poor suzuki :( looking at some on ebay, 400 should cover it, any idea how easy it is, and how long it will take, i have a proper workshop to do it in with all the kit. |
Re: remember to check your oil guys
contact 21quest -he has a very low mileage engine and he's near you-i'd have had his but the distance is too far to make it worth it money wise.

Re: remember to check your oil guys
Sorry to hear about your probs.
My mate broke his bike last year - beyond the skills of the AA to repair. That took 5 visits for them to realise too. Not very confidence inspiring is it. P.S. I do luuuuuurve them pipes. |
Re: remember to check your oil guys
hmmm, good job I checked mine t'other day in the black one, cause there were none innit. well not much. There appears to be a leak, think the seals gon ont clutch case. i filled it, but a little too much, its above higher level slightly, but I suppose it'll come out again!!!!
Another thing to go wrong on the black bike...in fact I hate both of them at the mo!! |
Re: remember to check your oil guys
anyone fancy it if i put a new lump in it? new lumps probably going to have 14000 miles on it, and the current one has 18000.
while its off the road, im going to get a respray and give it a good ol clean. Any offers? |
