SV650 Coil

What about you lads,

I was pointed in the direction of this forum for a bit of expert advice, I recently had my K4 give trouble, idleing badly etc and it was apparantly traced to the ignition coil? can anybody tell me if the ignition coil of anything else fits a 2005 SV650 S K4?

Any advice appreciated

Hi and WELCOME! Failte!

Don't know about interchangeability (?) of coils, but Tiger55 had problems with a coil on his SK6. It was replaced and then played up again on a recent rideout. Perhaps he'll pop along and explain shortly.

Enjoy the mountain (or is that pit) of knowledge that is the mighty "org"

Here I am. I've had two coils in 18 months - part of a bad batch the dealer suggested - but I just got them replaced under warranty. If you do find something better, let me know!

I would imagine the coils on K3-K6 bikes are the same. K7/K8 went over to a slightly diferent ECU with a lambda sensor, but I reckon the coils should still be the same. If you want to be certain check the part numbers here:
