Paddock Stands
Right on Ebay they got a pair (front and Rear) paddock stands that ive ordered. On the back i have the cotton reels but what do you put on the front forks to make the paddock stand prop the bike up?? Sorry if it bit of an idiotic question but i really am a novice at biking maintenance and mechanics atm but thats why im doing a bike mechanics course lol!

Re: Paddock Stands
You don't put anything like bobbins on the front, the type with two prongs each side go one under and one behind the fork leg, the ones with a spike sticking out of the ends go under each fork leg in the bolt holes.

Re: Paddock Stands
Some have two posts sticking up that fit in the bottom of the fork legs, some have cups that the fork legs sit into, and some have a single post that locates into the bottom of the steering stem (bottom yoke) which you will need the correct size pin for.
What type have you ordered??? |
Re: Paddock Stands

Just thought they were good value? Hope aint got it wrong lol!

Re: Paddock Stands
They are the cup type (even though they are two prongs), basically you sit the fork leg on the front prong and the rear prong secures the bike by sitting behind and up against the fork leg. Does that make sense???

Re: Paddock Stands
I bought some of those. Bad move! Get the headstock lifts.. The front paddocks are a bloody menace once you get the wheel off. The forks twist on the tubes. Luckily I had the SV anchored via rope to a garage rafter when it fell off the stand..
