clean license?

How many people on here are fortunate enough not to have been caught for any motoring offence[s] and still have a clean license after 5 years
This applies to the people who do either average mileage or in excess of 12.000miles p.a.
Please state your annual mileage in replies

Re: clean license?

I havn't been caught for speeding since 1997, but I was pulled up for excessive speed in a bus lane in 2002, but I didn't get any points for that - being polite seemed to help a lot.

Since then I too have developed amazing awareness of approaching emergency vehicles, through 360 degrees.

Since then I've done about 12k a year in the car.

Is this question bike specific?

Re: clean license?

Full car license for 14 years.
Full bike license for 3 years.

Never had any points. My mileage varies has varied from about 20k pa (car only) to my present mileages of around 5k pa on each.

Why do you ask?

i do a few motorway miles every year, generally cruise at an indicated 80-90 in the car, 90+ on the bike, don't break the limit in roadworks or where there's adaptive limits

if anything i'd say you're more likely to get done speeding in residential villages than on the motorway

Re: clean license?

Held my drivers licence for 12 years and my bike for 5 (I think).

I do between 20 and 30K a year in the car, and about 5k on the bike.

Never had a point, been pulled once by a beat car, and breathalysed 3 times - once in a road block at christmas, once after my bike accident, and once coming out of a pub in Suffolk - all three negative.

I'm a good boy!

Re: clean license?

I'm coming upto 8 years of driving now.

This year i will have done just short 30k which isnt unusual.

So far I have had 0 points but been very fortunate really.

I speed as a matter of habit, but I'm a firm believer of there being a time and a place for it, which i think to date has kept me safe, that together with having a very keen sense and high level of observation.

I will one day pass an unmarked car and sooner or later get caught, that i do know.

Re: clean license?

Why I'm asking is to trying to establish the differences in insurance quotes with points and unlimited mileage as against the percentage of people who have points/offences on their license
For instance,I was doing 70-80,000miles p.a. and every time 3 came off I seem to get 3 back within 6months.
Considering the mileage I was covering was 5 times the national average and I've been caught for something every 3 years I am wondering how Mr Average compares
