Bike2Bike intercom

I know this was raised a while ago but Lidl have their £25 bike walkie talkie's available again. They wont be the best thing ever (and appartently they dont work well over 40mph (not that I would want to talk to any of you over that speed anyway) but they might be quite a good thing to have available on rideouts when we are trying to find people?

Anyone keen?

I wouldn't want to talk with any of you lot at any speed.

One arguement about these.

If you go out on a ride and you all have these - you end up with nothing to talk about at the stops/when you get there :)

Sounds like fun to me but I can see the novelty wearing off very quickly..

Slight derail - Would you trust one of their helmets to protect your beloved??

They're only ?25 so worst case scenario it goes in the bin!

I wouldn't trust one of those helmets, you can get more well known ones for ?50+. I bought one off husky recently AGV and it is surprisingly decent. They're not as good as my Arais, but for 20% of the cost i can't complain.

I'm still going to get a RX7/new leathers when the time is right.

25 quid isn't bad, let us know how you get on with them if you do get them. The most annoying part I can see is getting it to fit in the lid all snug and then trailing all these cables across yourself and the bike

I just thought that for 25 pounds they could be a laugh. It would also give us all something to do whilst we are waiting for TonyK to get his kit on ready to ride ;-)

I dont think I would want to use them when riding fast (and apparently they dont work at speed anyway) but at the points when we are in town trying to find our way then they could be useful.

If nothing else ASM and Ogden should get them so that they can spend time poking jokes at me!

Think I am going to get a set. If anyone else cant get to Lidl let me know and I will try and pick one up for you.

Jon

PS - I only want to get a maximum of 4 sets (including 1 for me) first come first serve.

I'm not sure whether a 25 quid intercom would have the range for me to be able to talk to ASM without stopping every 2 or 3 minutes to let him catch up.
