DogCam Sports, customer service???
Anyone here had dealings with DogCam before and if so what has their customer service been like?
I got given a camera for Christmas by my lovely girlfriend but me being the insensitive type decided I would like to upgrade it so sent it back to them, paid the extra and got a lovely HQ1 camera. When I received this one it had a dead pixel, so of it went to Bodmin again. This one was returned.......... With 2 dead pixels (you would have thought that it was checked before being sent!). I then phoned them and I was apologised to and told to send it back and that a new upgraded batch would be in in about 4 or 5 days and I could have one of them as well as a little something in the bag to cover my postage for the 2 faulty units! Well 3 weeks later I remember that I haven't received it yet so give them a call, they say they'll look into it and can I call them the next day, I ask them to call me instead. Next day they duly call and say sorry again, say it'll go out today and what did I want as an extra so I ask for a Zorst mic. This camera arrived the next day but when I tested it last night, the picture is fine when there is light pointing at or near the lens but as soon as you move it away from the light it goes very grainy and on top of this, the connector is dodgy and needs to be wiggled to get it to work..... Anyway, I'm fed up with them not testing stuff so I'm driving (or riding, not decided yet) down there today so I can complain and test the new unit myself! Sorry for the rant but bad customer service really narks me off! |

Give 'em Hell, Phil:D
I'm a great believer in turning up to complain in person if you can. It's too easy for them to just fob you off over the phone, but when you actually thrust the shoddy goods under their noses, accompanied by a bit of growling, they usually get the point quite quickly:razz: |
Re: DogCam Sports, customer service???
I'm popping down there on Tuesday if they receive any new units!

Re: DogCam Sports, customer service???
On a side not, what recording device have you got? can you really make use of the HQ for all those extra pounds and dog house days?

Re: DogCam Sports, customer service???
Not got the recording device yet, will get the cam sorted first before I make my choice on what to get and where to get it from!
Any recommendations on a device that'll make use of the extra quality? Regards |

Re: DogCam Sports, customer service???
Their website recommends using a camcorder av-in rather than a digital media thinger...

Re: DogCam Sports, customer service???
Alls I know is it needs to be solid state, have plenty of storage and be capable of recording at a good resolution.

Re: DogCam Sports, customer service???
Why solid state?
Paulthe6th uses an AV camcorder and has no trouble with it |
