feminism according to me...

So I swam, run, played football.
"Stop whistling" my gran would say, "it's not lady like..."
"I don't want to be a lady, I want to be me!". The tomboy inside me was screaming out. Am I a boy girl...was I meant to be a boy...?

NO! I'm a girl who finds the things that girls like... BORING...

But cliches, stereotypes, all the things that the humans with a blinkered vision say is "normal" tends to put a stop to many things...and makes many people unhappy...I'm very lucky!

There is no rule book which really tells us what is right and what is wrong when it comes to us being who we are...
If we try to live by someones else's ideals in the long run we'll be unhappy...

So I run, train Martial Arts, ride a motorcycle, dive, swim, drive like a lunatic at times, ski of any mountain. I will go back to horse riding as well.

Am I a woman...? hell yes...but I AM who I want to be, forgetting what the cliches and stereotypes are, not really caring what most people will think about me. It's beyond the realms of their understanding, so I won't waste my time trying to explain WHY?

To me that's feminism...I will be who I want to be and I will not be told that I can't do it because I'm a girl, or I will not be as good as doing it because of it.

Stand back, that bra is burning mighty strongly!!!

Only joking. I agree with you; no-one should conform to stereotypes...I really love science, but I'm not nerdy (geeky, but not nerdy). I ride bikes, but I'm not a ruffian or a hells angel type. I am deeply into my heavy metal, but I dont have long hair

wish i did have long hair though, perfect for those moments when you need to windmill it, newstead style

oh please - That is hardly outrageous is it?? NONE of those are overly 'blokey' things to do these days .. riding bikes is male dominated, I'd agree, but a female motorcyclist is hardly ground breaking ;) The rest of the stuff has to be equally spread male and female? - apart from horse riding - that is so Girly!! :D

There is only one dumb animal a man likes between his legs!! :D

Although you have a point there are lots of people out there who still think women should stick to more ladylike hobbies like cross-stitching and baking (unleash the sexist chauvanists :-P) and it's rather sad. I for one think one should be as much of a rebel as possible and live life to the full, seeing as it is far too short to bother about what other people think.

(however, i do like to bake the odd bun or crumble :D)
