Video Captue
I got myself a capture USB dongle the other week, nothing fancy, just something off ebay.
Now it seems to capture video OK, but the sound is awful, when the machine is not crashing, but then its a rather old PC. Now tried to port the sound output through my sound card via the mic line in. Even then it sounds like someones blowing into to the mic. So is it more likely that there is something wrong with the capture software that I am using, or is it the 'line-in' source, the plugs and cables are just rubbish? |
Re: Video Captue
I thought you meant a camcorder. But now i know what you mean.
What source are you capturing from? Id turn down the line in, or change the settings in the microphone thingy in windoze settings. Do you have the option to change any settinsg in the cature whassit? I know i had a few issues when capturing audio from Vinyl. I changed a couple of settings and all was hunky dory |
Re: Video Captue
Yeah sounds like the GAIN is too high
Check if your mic has a +20db checkbox that is checked - uncheck it and see if that fixes it if it is. This on the Lappie? If so, bring along to SELKENT and we can have a prod. |
Re: Video Captue
Nah its on the old tower PC at home, I'll have to have a fiddle with the windows line in for the sound card as it might be to much for it. I was using the mic socket, but I might have a go with the line in then adjust the feed.
The software that came with the capture device seems to not have a great amount of option for the sound feed that I can find. Though its probably some option in a menu that I can find. |
