Twin Tailpipe Pipe Routing?

No Im not trying to root my tail pipe !!!;)

Im about to fit some twin high level cans on my K3 650 N and wondered if anybody knew if I should route each cylinder to each tailpipe or combine them then split them. I know with cars for optimum performance in some cases each header should equal in their length, should I apply this to my SV?
Or maybe I should use the stock headers and just `Y` up into the cans?:smt100

Are you making your own header?

I could do but of course will save time and effort not to.

Pretty much every system I've seen loops the rear header back on itself so as to get the headers the same length.

I thought this would be the case, though Im not familiar with the SV1000 and how thats piped. I may make some new headers to be sure.

If you can then the M4 is probably the best one to copy for the curvy, might as well make the pipes as big as practical, don't think many of the twin systems add that much flow.

I have some cut down/stubby Ducati 916 Termi cans I was thinking of grafting together for the fun.

:-D

Be a laugh to do it with some stupidly large pipework, dangerous dave is probably the man to ask about how to make it flow well though.

To be honest a single silencer system will be more effective on a SV. For the twin pipe route make sure both downpipes are the same length and don't run the two down pipe independently, they need to join together for better gas flow and pressure.

The most effective here as a twin pipe (please note these are not SV headers) is the one on the right, even just by looking at it you can see it has a better flow rate. The best advice I can offer is for you to study other bikes twin exhausts and your own SV's to understand the set up and positioning. You could copy the Renegade set up but that really is not greatly designed, and the price they charged for it too was extortionate!

It would all be done for cosmetics though!

Hi Thanks and yes just for cosmetics. Im not a fast rider so I get more eye time and want to look good whilst they can see me!
Ok back to the pipes I have looked at some and will have to do some dummy routing to get it right. I might just graft the Termis onto the standard system for ease and see what happens.
Cheers guys.
