HID's any one got them?

Hello,
Just wondering if any one has an HID kit installed on his/her's bike?
Any disadvantages, please share your 2 cents.
I'm thinking of getting this kit (5000k OEM white) to better illuminate the road at night. http://www.starrotors.com/bulbs/

Cheers
Tony

Hard to search for HID because the search function ignores it.

Those don't look like Hi/lo beam capsules, which means you lose the dip facility and just end up with high, which is a seriously bad idea. They are really really bright and will definately pi$$ off oncoming traffic.

I have no idea what a US spec headlight is like though, does it use one side for high and the other for low like the euro curvys?

I just bought some of those extra bright "white" bulbs as opposed to going for a full on HID kit. Worked out at ?7.xx for a set including sidelights.

Half of those just tint the lens blue and give out less light than a normal bulb, if you just want better halogens then you're far better going for a decent make like osram or philips IMO

Things are a wee bit different in the US, I gather the Nightbreakers aren't legal there and the Silverstars they get are different from ours.
