Im a quitter.............

today i quit my job. why? i hear you type..

well, iv been looking to get out the job for about 4 or 5 months now but would have preffered to leave when i had found something else. But today my deputy warehouse manager shouted at me, and i quote "F off you C, i can easily replace you with someone else" i thought... thats its, **** you im off!

my job was to dliver furniture for harveys, the proud sponsors of corrie (pffff!) loved the job because of the physicality, people you meet and the satisfaction of getting sofas into rooms when it looks almost impossible, driving the truck and the laughs we had out on the road. the problem became worse when i was told that my work partner of the last 5months wont be coming back after his two weeks off and he's to be replaced by a current agency worker who couldnt give two tits about the job apart from being paid and looking good all the time was the icing on the cake. being shouted at this morning for no reason and the manner he did it in was the candle in the cake so BYE!

my gaffer knew i was thinking of leaving and was concerned to hear that if i end up working with a meathead then im gone and was willing to sort the problem out but today was to much, so im now currently self unemployed. ive been told i cam claim job seekers allowance due to the fact that im actively seeking work but cant do that till tomorrow.

im thinking of getting in touch with head office and complaining about my (ex) fat arrogant knuckle scraping rhondda valleyian DWM purely for his attitude towards me and the others that work there but then it might come back to my gaffer who i dont want to get involved in this because he wasnt there at the time and he is a good boss but i really dont think i can be ar$ed to go that route as it would undoubtedly involve interviews and such the like..put up with enough crap off that place.

options? well agency driving could be a no go due to current economical climate, fuel rises credit crunch blah blah tho i am willing to do anything till something turns up, apart from indoor officey type jobs, no offence but iv always been hands on labour intensive type of person, i couldnt handle an office but i have thought of maybe motorcycle instructor. worth looking into anyway

so there you have it, im home, bored, jobless, releived and stressed at the same time, sorry ppl, rant over :smt045

Well to relieve your boredom, start putting together a constructive dismissal case - make stuff up if its not proveable one way or another, then present it to your now ex work.

Worst case your old boss gets some real **** from above, best case you get some dosh out of it - I dont think you would even need to make anything up.

With the "Corrie-connection" threaten to go to the press :)

I'd agree with Soulkiss mate. Being shouted at like that is not only uncalled for but highly unproffesional and rude. Me i'd have smacked him one before i walked out and gone straight to see a solicitor about it.
But you got nothing to loose by pursuing it and if your a half decent driver then i'm sure you know theres loads of jobs out there for drivers so good luck with it.
