Well officially I am not a biker until next Friday and I have work early next day so will have to abstain this week but fingers crossed I will get there for next week.

forgive my ignorance but is it a bike meet or a drink up or a bit of both depending on mood?

Jas,I would NOT encourage anybody to drink and ride or drive. Normal would be a couple of soft drinks/coffee etc and a meal if you fancy one. On the occasion I have a drink I arrive by car with somebody else wife or mate driving. We chat ,put the world to right,extract the urine and slag everbody off----------------as in life

oops sorry didn't explain myself well there, I never have a beer whilst driving or riding and would not be an advocate of it either.

What i was trying to get at is, if I turn up on my bike / in leathers will I be the only one or do other people go by bike as well? Or is it just a social / meal / beer type thing without the bikes (or cars) Or is it a bit of both i.e. some on bikes others straight from work and there for a beer etc etc. I am lucky in that I am only down the rd so I can bike it or beer it and get a cab depending on what everyone else does and what the hawk's bike policy is as despite living close I have never been there.

I hope that makes a bit more sense ......its Friday and I've had a long week.

In the warmer evenings we turn up on bikes/leathers and get a table outside,normal beween 7-7:30.some direct from work.others just to have a meal out. I have time to eat indoors so just join in the conversation and have a coffee or two Weather dictates the numbers that attend,sometimes 3 or 4 othertimes 8 or 10
When you get your bike just pop along and decide if it is for you

I'm off on the 25th so I plan on being along, and subject to it not snowing plan on being on the bike.

well, i hope to be along on my bike next week. Subject to snow storms volcanos etc
