unmarked police bike markings

I filtered to the front of a traffic light at the weekend and noticed in my mirrors another bike filtering up behind me. Looked like an unfaired kawasaki (was green anyhoo) but had what looked like the double row of squares that you get on a policemans peaked hat band. Could also have been some sort of finishing flag patterned sticker I guess.

Nearly unmarked bike?

if it is green, possibly it was a paramedic ???

Could have been I guess.
I should add that the markings were only visible on the plastic panels (tank?) either side of the headlight.
Didnt appear to have a police uniform on either. While the bikes are unmarked are the riders also incognito?

well if unmarked police cars can be manned by un-marked cops then I'm guessing the unmarked police bikes can be riden by un-marked men.

adamfool: Could well have been one of them speed fours actually; right kind of green.
Erm do unmarked traffic cars/bikes have unmarked drivers/riders though?
I mean is that all you get? flash of a warrant card or do they just stealthily film you?

was prolly either a speed four, or some dude had put reflectiv square stickers on his bike. I don't think the police would go sticking stuff on their unmarked bikes to make them look like police bikes - would kinda defeat the object.

oh yes. i did some work once at a police depot. during a spell in the workshop, which was full of police vehicles, a dark fireblade was ridden in by a sparky. i ran over to have a chat and discovered that they were fitting a sat nav to an unmarked police bike. this bike was tricked up beyond your wildest dreams. i did write the reg down but lost it in the works van, no good anyway as theres no plate on the front, silly sod. were all dooooooooooooooooooooomed.

Which are normally used for more important tasks than bikers with loud cans.
