11th May, Red Lodge to Perry

Ok, we now have a finalised route

Meeting at Red Lodge truck stop, which is just off the A11 above Newmarket. 9am meet, 10am start.

Taking cross country routes, going to Saffron Walden, back round the long way to Stradishall Cafe, which is a bikers haunt. On the route this is the "G" marker. We'll stop there for a while for a coffee/butty/fag etc, then go back up to newmarket for a stop at the Harley Garage. Line up the bikes for a photo, quick nose round the shop, then on 5 minutes down the road for the first fuel stop.

Then we head out Cambridge way, take the cross country route to St Neots, then up to the road of bones (tm) which we're doing the other way round this time, then down for the final stop at Perry, where the last rideout started.

Total distance is just short of 150 miles, with a Petrol stop half way, so make sure you have enough petrol to get through ~80 miles from the start. I don't think there's a petrol station in Red Lodge, but there's a couple in Newmarket, if you're coming from that direction.

This is a long rideout folks, it will take a good few hours, but there should be something for everyone in it.

Skip, Bigbaddad, we can meet up in Stretham again (make sure you fill up at Downham Market!) Go through Fordham, Freckenham to Red Lodge? Won't be a long ride but it might be a good idea to make sure we all turn up in the same place!

I don't know what way Pete and Lissa are coming, but if they plan on blitzing it across the A14 all the way, they could come off at my junction, then come up to stretham with me to meet you?

As you are starting the ride at Red Lodge I wont meet you this time - its a longish way round for me - I can take a nice route to Bury St Edmunds and then head up to Barton Mills and a short hop down the A11

Will try and convince others to come too :)

Meet up at Stretham should be good for me....it's a little out of my way but not much.....how long would it take us for there Sean?

25 minutes absolute max Keith, but I can't see it taking us that long. Want to meet around about half 8 to get there by 9? Will you need to fill up before we start?
