Trailtec Vector Digital Speedo

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trailtech-Vect...QQcmdZViewItem

On ebay at the moment.

This system allows the use of a water temp sender which would be useful, plus it has a clock and can switch to kph.

Anybody got one, had one, thrown one away in disgust? ;)

Same company as makes the Vapor (not Veypor) which is a nice bit of kit, and can do the temperature pickup too. Too small though, in fact it's tiny, this looks like it's in the same casing. Not sure what this one does differently though, I can't get on their website.

For these dashboards you can see all the details on this website http://www.trailtechproducts.co.uk/store/erol.html

For the VAPOR you can buy this for the best price (I think) here http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product...b947f672230f9a

I hope this helps. I have used the VAPOR and its reliable and easy to fit.

Re: Trailtec Vector Digital Speedo

Hi,

I know this is an old post, but can anyone help me with a problem...

I've just finished fitting a Vapor unit to my pointy, everything works fine, except the tacho. I was just wondering if anyone could reveal where they picked the feed up from?

I've tried wrapping round the HT lead, and picking up the original tacho supply to the standard clocks,

The lead that came with the kit for picking up the tacho, has a resistor in series with it. Did anyone else have this?

Ive double checked the setting up of the unit, and all seems fine...

Thanks in advance for replys!

Was an option for my CBR when trying to make it naked, I went for the Acewell in the end, better reveiws. Try the custom fighters website there are some reveiws of the vapour on there.

EDIT: sorry also they will be one of the best to ask about the probs your having.

EDIT 2: I also tried connecting it up to the old tacho wire that connected to the speedo.

I have a vapor on a curvy.

I got the tacho lead with the in-line resistor (didn't have it originally). For the curvy, there's an orange and white wire that goes to the coils.. I used a piggy back connector onto the end of that, and pushed it onto the spade. Works fine.

Is it a gsxr front end you're doing?

Ah ha! Thanks everybody! I'll give it a go tomorrow...

as for the gsxr front end, I'm afraid not, its going to be used as a trackbike so I'm replacing the original clocks etc...

Thanks again!

Re: Trailtec Vector Digital Speedo

I thought there was some kind of trickery in the pointy clocks that was needed for the bike to run?

She seems to be running fine without, had her running earlier with no apparent probs?...
