Non starting after side stand cut out.
Hello everyone! New owner here!
Right, I've searched extensively and not found a problem that sounds the same as mine so posting here... Just bought a SV650, 2005. After a ride yesterday, parked in the garage. For some reason, I decided to see if the side stand cut-switch worked, so put the side stand down whilst it was still in gear, and sure enough it killed the engine. Now it won't start, just makes an embarrasing "family fortunes" type "buzzzzz" noise out of the exhaust when I try to fire her up. Electrics are working, makes all the normal noises when I turn the key to on. Clutch is in, gear in neutral, side stand up, kill switch checked. All ready to go, press ignition AND "buzzzzzz". Sh*t. Any ideas? Please help! |
Re: Won't start, please help!
Do your display lights fade when trying to start it? And, Does it just make a clicking sound when starting but not turning over? If so, mine did that and it was due to the battery being low.

Thanks very much for the quick reply.
Will charge the battery before I try anything else. Wood |

No problem. I absolutely panicked when it happened to me. I just put it on to recovery charge and in 2 hours it was good.

+1 for a dead battery. Nothing to do with the side stand switch mate.
