anyone done it, it looks a laugh

Which kind?
The dirt stuff up a near vertical muddy slope doesn't look fun, especially when the bike wants to kill you on its way back down.

Nah I do that on my trials bike, it's never landed on my head yet lol
(thats free too!)

I mean the ones that are timed sprint on tarmac

The Scarborough club does them, also sprints on circuits.
If interested will try to get more info. You can even do an event without a Comp licence

there was one at the last trial i did........ they used to put them in trials alot years ago

There is one at Houghton Tower every year.

1/8 of a mile up the hill

I nearly entered one the day after the AR in Shrewsbury, but chickened out. Probably just as well, the petrol station was full of battlescarred cars that day (one guy was driving home in a sierra that was blatantly bent in the middle, he'd hit a post or a tree side on, all the wheels were pointing in different directions)

But it does look ace.
