another techy one
 
right can anyone help me with my ethernet doohicky :)

basically its not showing up in network connections so obviously it needs the driver but i cant find it anywhere.

I've gone into device manager and told it to search the web for updates but it comes back with no results

its a bit of a old system but the board it a asus p3p800 and i running XP

BTW: thanks to all that helped me in the torrent thread, i eventually got it up to 250 by doing the port forwarding and opening the half opened ports ect so thank you all very much :smt023

Need to check the model number, have you tried here?

It could well be disabled in the BIOS so is not installing a driver. Press and hold delete or what ever f button it tells you to on startup and look through all the bios menus. It will be in there somewhere- enable/disable or similar.

checked it with CPUz and on boot up screen and it is a p4p800 :confused:

no mention of ethernet anywhere in the bios :confused:

Get the driver form here:

around 5/8 of the way down the page. Realtek, by the looks of it.
