BANG! ... ooohhh is that a puncture?
Yes it is/was ...
The second one I have had in a fairly shot space in time (<300 miles) ... Riding along in the beautiful sunshine minding my own business and I hear this BANG! ... sounded like a tyre explosion ... took a quick gander as I was rolling along and my tyres didn't seem to have gone down, so I kept riding ... coupla miles time and it was all still fine, so just wrote it off as one of those things .. Anyway, got back after ~60 mile round trip and what did I see in my tyre?!?!? Yep the head of a nail  ... a bit of spit on top and there were some very small bubbles, so I got in there and started digging it out .... to be honest, I haven't even taken it all the way out yet and look what it is/was!! http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ewpuncture.jpg I now see that bang probably was me - something that big is going to make quite a noise being forced through a tyre in a millisecond!! |
Re: BANG! ... ooohhh is that a puncture?

Indeed, which is why I was able to continue on my ~60 mile trip :) Unfortunately it is leaking though, so would go flat eventually so I can't just leave it like that  |

Tyre looks fairly used anyway. Hey ho. New tyre time.

I was thinking of just pushing the bolt/nail back in again and perhaps putting some black paint over the head/top ... you would never know the difference!! :D |
Re: BANG! ... ooohhh is that a puncture?
Don't forget the black paint, it'll make all the difference ;)
Would it kill you to admit defeat & buy a proper repair kit? |

Seems to be a bit of screwed rod like we use at work. Think you were pretty lucky there!
