Can I
Park behind a scamera van and open my tailgate so that it obscures his line of sight.
Assuming it is a public highway, with no parking restrictions. Do I not have the right to park there. It is not my fault he cannot see out the back of his van, whilst I try to find the cause of the annoying rattling sound from within my boot area. It may be something dangerous and I would hate to have a breakdown/accident because of that strange noise from the back of my car. |

Re: Can I
Some guys I know did this with large vans whilst on exercise. It was a public parking place, a lay by. He had just enough room to get out, they parked tight to him either side. Nothing has ever been said and it was one of Brunstrum's talivan.

Re: Can I
nothing they can do as far as i can see, you are parking legally and leaving plenty of room for him to move.

Re: Can I
Why then should he say I was perverting the course of justice.

Re: Can I
I'm not so sure, they might have you for interfering with a police officer doing their duties or some such as a motorist was in South Wales after driving up and down a road at 30 to prevent road users being caught by a hidden camera, even though he was legal and licensed etc.

then when i am released without charge, you can not get home to your wife because you have the paperwork to fil in , see if he was so keen then. He was trying to scare you. If you had got out a sign warning others then yes he could have done you, otherwise he knew full well there is nothing he can do. |

yes, i sleep with the enemy every night LOL ;) But seriosly am confident enough to know they cant / wont do anything as they know they will end up with egg on their face. And yes i am more than happy to sit in an interview room knowing that ill be out soon while they spend the day tied up in paper work!! Why do you think you have to push a copper so far to get arrested, they dont like the red tape that goes with an arest!! As long as you remain calm and polite they get wound up, its greatto watch especially if they know there is nothing they can really do, as in the case above. The perverting the course of justice would not stick anymore than jelly to the ceeling in that case. Its a public layby you can stop there if you want, the CPS would not even bother processing it. |

A better course of action would have been to give you 5 minutes, then check everything was OK (e.g. you were not having an asthma attack and looking for your inhaler) - he would have found out what you were doing and could have just taken a break for 10-15 minutes while you sorted out your problem. After that it might have been construed that your reason for being there was to frustrate him in his pursuit of revenue generation (oops enforcement) and give a hint to move on. Threatening folks with the law at every turn makes the cops look like a bunch petulant school boys. |
