What makes an SVxxxR an 'R'?
Seen a couple of pictures with the 'S' replaced by the GSXR 'R' logo.
So what justifies sticking an 'R' at the end? Is it the obvious front end swap and a bit of engine tuning or something more subtle? Is it just ego? "My springy bits are better than your springy bits and I have the 'R' to prove it" Is there an unwritten law that says you can tag an 'R' on the end providing you do specific mods? Do 'the boys' come over and beat you up if you stick an 'R' on your plastics without doing the required mods? :smt119 Are these questions really worth answering or should I just go to bed nice and early? |
Re: What makes an SVxxxR an 'R'?
You make it a R by havin' a mate who does stickers for you, that's all.
It's meant to be like GXSR but for the SV. |

Re: What makes an SVxxxR an 'R'?
Mine has an R which ties the rear end into the red stripe on my tank, kinda. It's also got a kinda gsxr-esque paint job so I reckon it's worth an R.
I also got the stickers made for free, so can't complain!! :D |
Re: What makes an SVxxxR an 'R'?
If a load of suspension work, mods and a tickled engine make's it an R then mine would be.
But I'm not a tart. So it's flat black and muck coloured. |

Re: What makes an SVxxxR an 'R'?
Everyone knows that the more "R"'s there are in a bikes name, the faster it is! Obviously! ;)
