What the queen owns...
So, we were sat at the dining table last night, having dinner, as we do. On the menu was that good old favourite - stew & dumplings. L'il Lucy complained but once the dumplings and carrots and sweet potatoes had been removed, she managed to eat her portion.
This was followed by a mini magnum each. Mine was double caramel...yum. The subject of conversation for reasons unknown turned to one of 'what the Queen owns'. :king: According to Mrs Stingo, she (the Queen) owns an area of land (and I quote) 'between high tide and low tide or some such'. Well knowledgeable .orgers...have any of you heard this before (the bit about the Queen and her property - not the stew & dumplings)?:smt100 |
Re: What the queen owns...
Back in ye old times when gangs and criminals ruled.......the royal families ancestors were the biggest baddest gang out there and by rule of the blade/sword/knife they took over the whole of the country. Then their eparate sub gangs controlled kingdoms by force and fear under the control of the big don/king......this turned into the policed country we have today and they (the royal family) live the life of luxury because they were the most brutal gang in past.....down with the royal family lol.

Re: What the queen owns...
Swans I believe are the property of the queen (or reigning monarch)

Re: What the queen owns...
Yeah it's true, technically the Crown does own the land between low tide and high tide. Not 100% sure why but i think it has some thing to do with smugglers and how they used to get stuff ashore.

Re: What the queen owns...
Yes the land between Mean High Water and Mean Low Water is Crown land. This does not mean it belongs to the Queen. Crown land is a term used for government land, such as forestry commission or firing ranges etc. Being Crown land means they are exempt from some stuff (such as planning restrictions)
