Gixxer front end up and running!

Hi All,

If this works, here are some photos of the Gixxer front conversion on my curvy. If this doesn't work.....ummmmm.....this is a very strange post!

Thanks to all who gave advice and support. The finished article is brilliant. It has totally transformed the SV which now feels much nicer to ride.

The variable bars are ace too!

Check out the rear speedo drive conversion..... neat innit?:D

Will post dimensions/instructions on another thread.;)

Nice work!
I like the look of your speedo, I hope to do this to my bike, I'm picking up gsxr stuff tomorrow. Did you need to use a longer cable, or did you just cut the loom casing a bit and pull the cable out?

Looking forward to doing mine ;)

Hi Sean,

I extended the cable and used a block connector for simplicity.

I'll post how I did the drive on the weekend.

I think it under reads by about 4mph at 70mph so if you want to stay legal stay just below the posted limit.

Regards

Rich:p

I read a couple of posts by northwind, its supposed to be more accurate than stock ;)

The speedo block connecter was an absolute barsteward to get apart on mine :(

Looks great! Have you avoided using clip-ons on purpose?

Yes mate. It's called GETTING OLD!:smt103 Plus I like the adjustability. I can go for 'Ace bars' (a bit like the clip on position) for silly days (wrists allowing) and upright for commuting, all in about 20 minutes. Not too bad really.:D

Looking good. Nice discs ;) Love those bars... I like clipons but those are seriously cool. Starting to think that RWU GSXR forks are the classiest option for the SV.

You should be able to rotate the speedo drive around 90 degrees so the cable points forwards by the way, bit neater on the wiring. Oooooh, and you might want to move the yokes up the forks to the top, unless those forks are longer than the USD ones, they're pretty short already.
