Injuries
Once again I am injured :help:
I have done my ligaments in my neck/sholder again, and cant ride the bike as a result = cant go on the france trip :smt013 I did it about aweek ago, but hoped it would have healed, it hasnt :( I am not happy, in the last 12 months I have broken my right ankle, ripped my right quad (very painfull, not recomended), pulled the ligaments/tendons around my left knee, and now done my right sholder/neck again (old injury thats come back to bite) should probably give up now while im only slighty behind  I just need to rant, thanks for listening |

Re: Injuries
In your youth? I wouldn't have put you past 25. If that is past youth, I am ancient.

Re: Injuries
You feel frail - hey - at least you didn't slip on some ice, shatter your hip and end up having to have some granny's metal-wear replacement...
... isn't that right Northy? ;) Damaged ligaments can take an age to heal properly - sometimes I think I was better off having totally shredded mine and getting a go-faster carbon fibre replacement. It can feel like it's healed, but that's only because your body had replaced the damaged bit with Type III collagen - it's Ok, but much weaker and less stretchy that Type I (which is what tendons and ligaments are normally made of). So whilst it can feel OK it's actually more prone to re-injury than before - it can take anywhere from 3-18 months (depending on damage) for the Type III to gradually be replaced by Type I and therefore be properly healed. See - my Anatomy and Physiology module at Uni hasn't been wasted. ;) |
