iv purchased a pilot road 2 front tyre off fleabay, it arrived today and alls well, all i have to do is fit it

question is about the scrubbing in. when i had a rear put on at superbikes it was semi scrubbed in and was told to take it easy for the first 50-100 miles. with this new front there has been no srubbage at all, even the injection nipples or whatever they are called are on the middle of the tyre so...........

whats the best way to scrub a totally unscrubbed tyre?

ride on it carefully for the first 100 miles (ignoring any wet miles)

Scrubbing is misleading as it is the heat that does the job. I have heard about people using a sheet of sand paper to scrub tyres! It is the heat that gets rid of the oily layer on the top. I am extra careful for 100 miles and don't go bersekr before I get 200 miles on the tyre.

I have done 200 miles on my new tyres, so tonight I thought it would be enough as I had slowly been increasing lean angles, so went quick into a corner and had a massive slide :(:(. I havnt had any massive heat in the tyre though to be fair as I've not been over 90mph or 7.5krpm :( I think maybe i need to wait until i can get more heat in them.

Would dodgy tyre pressure cause a slide like that?

Best way to get the heat in the back is accelerating... For obvious reasons. :D

Unless you can cook your bacon on the disc's and a Egg on the back tyre they aint been punished enough.

Bad tyres. :p
