Oh god another bloody bungs question.
Yup, another one.
I need to buy some new bungs. I have the old old style R&G bungs at the moment. Having tried to beg, borrow or steal one to replace my umm used one, I have been unsuccessful. I even considered buying direct from R&G but the just don't stock them any more. I have looked at their latest offering but just seem more fragile and easier to bend than the previous versions. I then decided to give Motosliders a shot. But can't see to find a UK stockist. A search on this forum came up with an ebay seller but doing a search on there came up blank as well. Can someone send me a link as to where I can get the motoslider ones or maybe some advice on the new style R&G's? I need to order them, receive them and have them fitted before the track day I have booked on the 16th. Basically I'll be leaving home on the morning of the 14th so time getting short. Thanks. |
Re: Oh god another bloody bungs question.
here you go MR Ape. In the US they call them frame sliders. This guy is an official stockist of motosliders, and will get back to you asap if you email him...anytime actually ( he must not sleep a lot)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SV100...spagenameZWDVW and if you do order, by the 6th day you should have them. Hes very very quick to send them oh and nobody sells them in the UK, you'll only get them from across the pond or by lucky chance, like my first set from MR Luckypants...what a nice man |
Re: Oh god another bloody bungs question.
do you just need a replacement, as when i damaged one of my rs r&g which they didnt stock any more, i rang them up and they MADE me a new one
it did take nearly a month but i got it in end, but they may have one in stock which they will split for you |
Re: Oh god another bloody bungs question.
Thanks for the replies.
Dizzy that auction doesn't end for another three days. But thanks for pointing the seller out. Frame sliders indeed. Pah! Silent I want a replacement for the track day I have booked a month is no good to me. Just out of interest, how much did it cost you for a replacement? I've heard rumours of £50 just for a replacement bung. I've decided to buy the latest version of R&G. Two reasons for this. One I can get them before the track day and secondly I got them for £25 quid cheaper than R&G are selling them for. When or if I next slide down the road and the R&G's fail, I'll look again at the Motosliders ones. |
Re: Oh god another bloody bungs question.
if you email him, he'll sort you some out before the ebay auction ends...hes always got em in stock. He just invoiced my paypal account instead of doing it via ebay. HTH

Re: Oh god another bloody bungs question.
By "new style R&G's" do you mean the ones that have the bolt that goes through the engine block?
If so, mine are the new style, and they've been tested once quite throughly (at approx 50mph). Bent the bung, and the bolt, but nothing else. If the ones I have are the old style, then I'll watch this thread with great anticipation, as I still haven't got around to replacing that one yet either. I'm working under the philosophy that if I replace it, I'll only go ahead & use it again. |
Re: Oh god another bloody bungs question.
I should have emailed him but didn't really think about that. The deed is now done and the R&G's are ordered.
Baph. I have the first generation R&G bungs fitted. They have a bolt that goes all the way through the engine. I believe the 2nd and 3rd generation also have a bolt that goes all the way through. But the bung is bolted on to a plate. This is the 3rd generation (I think) http://www.rg-racing.com/images/prod...e/img198_1.jpg |
Re: Oh god another bloody bungs question.
Would you like to burrow a 'used' 1st gen bung? As I have a slightly worn spare.
I can also recommend the CSG Moto bungs... |
