is the facebook site down? i cant get on, just says cannot display this page?

i signed up for the 1st time about 20 mins ago mine working but i think its crap :p

The website is working though. kwak, Start > Run > cmd > OK. Then in the command window, tracert www.facebook.com

Then hit enter.

Chances are it's your ISP that's not doing DNS properly at the moment. Could be fixed in seconds, could take days.

Click Start, Click Run, then in the box type "cmd" without the quotes. Hit OK. A black window appears. Type "tracert www.facebook.com" (again, without the quotes) then hit enter.

Copy & paste the results, but basically, you should see something 2 hops from the end that says FACEBOOK-IN..... That's the Facebook gateway. If you can't resolve that far, then you need to call your ISP. Or wait for someone else to call them. :)

That command you ran (or did you???) doesn't do anything really. Just tests the route from you to the facebook server.

Chances are it was a temprary glitch in DNS resolution (the art of finding out where an internet server is).

i got the black box and typed in what you said and dunno why but i can get the facebook home page now? perhaps just a temp glitch and like u say come back online?

I am not sure about this facebook thingmyjigg. I joined a couple of weeks ago, cause me mate in NZ asked me to. Theres loads of peeps on there, but I just don't get it....or spaceface or what ever you call it. I'm on there but I got bored with that
