Pegs too sticky?

Well, might sound abit strange but I find my pegs (the rubber on top) to be too sticky and to grippy. When I go to slid my foot under the gear lever for a change my foot just sticks to the peg. They are the standard SV ones.

I would prefer to just slide my foot along the peg but down to the stickiness I have to lift off (sometimes resulting in my changing down instead of up!).

Much be done to rectify this? Are all pegs like this (even the ones without rubber)?.

Would quite like to hear other peoples thoughts and opinions on this! :p

I currently have Oberon blue studded pugs and although your boot feels securly planted there is freedom of movment to slide your foot to any desired position . It is possible to remove the studs for a perfectly smooth footpeg bit this will wear off the anodising too quickly .
However , I have had many different pegs over the years and have had no serious problems with any of them . The best advice I can give is to get new pegs and stick to ones that are 100% metal .
Hope this helps .

Also go for round ones as opposed to flat topped ones .

How heavy is the tread on your boots?
My worn Hein Gericke is far smoother than my AltBergs.

Well I have just bought some new boots (two weeks ago) but it also happens with my Sidi's that I have had since I was 16 (used to ride pillion alot!).

Was thinking about metal pegs though. Would look better aswell. Also thought about rearsets but I can't justify them (both money and ability!)

Any makes to avoid when looking for new pegs then or are they all just the same (give or take)?

I have also noticed I have used lots of brackets in this post (hmm). :D

how about trying a squirt of silicone spray on your peg rubbers - gotta be cheaper and less hastle than fitting new pegs.

I believe you can remove the rubber from the stock pegs. AndyC, who's bike I now have, has excellent pegs for grip. PM him see where he got them from.
