Rear Tyre Puncture...dang
on A449 heading back to wolves from cardiff, back end slides out, thought maybe diesel, then it keeps wobbling all over the place
decided to slip into the layby that was luckily close (which i think was a good idea) where i sat in my leathers boiling and also waiting for the RAC to arrive Plug the hole, air also leaking from a part of the rim, mr RAC seriously did not like the tyre and escorted me to langstone garage where the bike sits now overnight. Mr garage will call up some place 2moro morning and get me a pair of new tyres (hopefully the tyres i chose), if not then the best he can get. Then they shall be fitted hopefully before 3pm enabling me to start my new job at 5.30 without making a naff first impression Having jsut got back from spain (and having left my bankcard in wolves, which incidentally is empty anyway) i now have a tenner, in which to get me to langstone from cardiff. I'm thinking train to newport then find a bus that goes there. If anyone knows how i make this journey on this budget will be nice, whether there are busses. Also if anyone in the wales area has a new pair of PR2s then get yourself down to langstone Then all i need is a loving relative to supply their card details to mr garage so the tyres can be paid for, and work my butt off this week and pay it back Mr RAC took me to newport train station, where i boarded a train to cardiff, and proceeded to get very sweaty infront of some fitties, due to the leathers and carrying a massive backpack, panniers and lid. Although, they were clearly loving the manly, leathery, sweaty man, but perhaps a little confused as to why such a man was on a train in bike gear ... at least i didnt come off anyway, or get stuck in some empty place with only my 10mile tow allowance |

Its not ideal, but its also not really a problem! ... I can't remember the last time I had a matched pair on my roadbike ... to my mind it really isn't a problem ... especially if you are a bit strapped for cash at the mo I'd not have bothered .. but that is me ;) |
Re: Rear Tyre Puncture...dang
what is running in a new pair of tyres like?
had to do just over 200miles motorway riding but kept a steady 65 is it ready for a whooping yet? |

They will have had a good heat-through then and sweated out much of the nastiness, which is good. But lets face it, down the motorway, you haven't 'scrubbed' the side bits at all have you!! ;) ... so just bear that in mind when you start cranking her over down your fave back roads and you will be fine! |
