A1(M) or M1???
Hi all,
Going down London way from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne next week to see the parents. Haven't done the journey on the bike yet so whats the best way to go? Down the A1(M) or down the M1? I need the best route down to joining the M25. (Whichever is not gonna make me do this :smt013 too much!) Any advice much appreciated!;) |
Re: A1(M) or M1???
where is your final destination? if possible i'd say take the A1 M as the M1 has loads of sh1tty road works down near luton atm. with average speed cameras and that (not that bikes get caught by em).

Re: A1(M) or M1???
I'd use the A1(M) if I were you. What day/time are you going? It makes a huge difference. BTW I do long distance pretty often and I've found if you sit at 70 you'll get over 200 miles to a tank. Take in to account you don't stop so often it works out taking the same amount of time, whilst being easier on the pocket and brain :)

Re: A1(M) or M1???
+1 for the A1(M). Too many roadworks at the M1 M25 junction. Was down there yesterday and it was a nightmare! :smt013

Re: A1(M) or M1???
I'd probably pick the A1, for reasons stated above. Plus the A1 has roundabouts that help to break up the monotony of the journey.
