Ben Spies to MOTO GP

Ben who? Well he is the latest hot shot over in the USA riding in their AMA series. The yanks rate him very highly but often their race series is no great barometer.
He is contracted to Suzuki and was already scheduled to ride as a wild card at laguna Seca this season. However Capirex is injured and so Ben is being drafted in to ride at Donington and Assen.

He might be an interesting addition to the paddock as he apparently hates flying and has a somewhat over bearing mother who is actively involved in his career plus a stereotypical bleached blonde, blown up boobed girl friend!:)

Are they getting rid of vermeulen or running a third bike next year?

There was talk of a third suuki for spies, but this won't happen apparently. And suzuki are keen to keep on vermulan, and loris has expressed his wishes to stay on next year aswell.

So no Spies next season, it seems.

No offence but the last Wonder kid from over there hasn't done a great deal.. He won the World championship somehow... I guess being on the best bike helped there? Other than that he hasn't done particularly well. Guess who?

It seems because they are American they get what they want... Does me head in. In AMA the Suzuki's are easily the best bike in the paddock as well.

Mr.Greek...having an American rider is very important to sales of machines in the states. This cannot be under estimated at all. Who knows this guy could be the real deal.

Very true, 1 of which is a recent World Champion(1 of only 3 in the class since it's move to 4 strokes). The second despite being in the veteran stage continues to run very well, though he will never win a race as long as races have laps! The third I am afraid has a long history of flattering to deceive and I feel it is he who is under most threat,(granted he presently rides Kawasaki and a Yank representing them on the world stage is also very important)

Spies would be the replacement for Loris I feel, when he finally decides that he is better off with his old pal Max in WSB.

Hopkins is a good rider. He just needs to get the machine to let him win. Edwards has a good chance I think. He just dont seem to push hard enough. :(
