Carb problems, throttle probs?

Mate of mine was on his bike today, steady throttle, lowish speed (the lower it is the worse), crack it open, the thing sort of stutters(misfire maybe as it backfires) and then goes.

He's also noticed he turns his throttle, the first tiny bit of turn there is nothing sometimes,

Am I right in thinking the carbs need sorting?

Its for a curvey.

Sounds lean, carp in the slow jet?

Something fishys going on.... :-P

Solution, get a can of carb cleaner and strip the carbs. Don't get carb cleaner on rubber bits. Blow all the passages out with an air line, or get a can of air if you don't have a compressor.
