Saw a bike taken out in front of me today
 

Was filtering past stationary traffic on the A37 in Bristol just after templemeads on approach to some roadworks/temporary traffic lights. After the works was a junction immediately on the left after the works and another junction about 5m offset on the right. The guy on the bike in front went through on green lights with me being a car behind while a transit van pulled out from the lhs junction and went straight accross towards the opposite junction taking the biker out which was still in the right hand lane. It was one of those open back vans so the bike half disappeared between the rear axle and the fuel tank.

The guy said he was a police rider that being said don't think there was anything he could have done due to the distances involved and that any indicating signal the van could have been giving would be misleading. The biker was ok had a bit of a road rash on the knee. The van driver said he didn't not see the bike aka did not ****ing look :rolleyes:. He didn't seem that apolegetic either so I left my details then went wondering if I would have been in the market for a third set of fairings had I filtered to the front.

Shocking... It was one of those vans that pulled out on me once too. Must be Transits... Damn them.

+1, I drive a white van for work, a family car for moveing stuff and my bike and mountain bike for fun. A white van on the list doesn't make you a bad person!:smt120

The guys van was filled with rubbish and he looked like bit a of a gypo. I'm a bit relieved to see that wales isn't the only place with gypos :p

If someone hit me and didn't seem apologetic... i'd be upset, especially if some of my internal structurally supporting beams had been damaged.

it doesent i suppose. Just wondered if people had them for personel use instead of business. that was all? No reason in particular.

Wouldent be interested in selling it , im after a van at the mooment
