Repairing alloy car wheels

Am doing my car up sort of thinking of selling. Anyway, alloys have been kerbed a few times and have gouges in them - is their anything I can use to repair/cover/make em look a bit better? Don't want to spend a lot as it's an old banger.

Have been looking about but don't want to buy completely the wrong thing!

I have had my alloys re-furbished by a dealers once before and they did a cracking job.

Was about £30 per wheel but that was a while ago, my mum just had here BMW alloys done by BMW and I think they charged £50 a wheel. (but they are 19" rims)

As for doing it your self I can't help you.

Hi, try this link. It is for a mobile repair centre that will come to you and they quote that they are 60% cheaper than dealers or anywhere else.

Give them a ring and see what they say.

alloyy wheels are specially made, they put a paint coating on them which is glazed and when you kerb an alloy not only do you gamage the glaze but aloso the metal underneathe.

you cant fill up the gouges but it just wont stick to the wheel.

all you can really do is tell them the truth, as long as they dont too bad they probably wont be too bothered.

there is a place in dumbarton. I had a dent in mine cause by pot hole in the road. Tyre place recommended them and said probably cost about £50 as it was a bad dent. Went along and they said it was a really bad dent but would try to knock it out. I went back next day and it looked as good as new and only cost £5. worth taking it to them to have a look at maybe
