Ducati - Discussion...
I could just about hear what Stoner was saying on the tannoy yesterday, "what do I have to do to make people like me" etc, in my opinion, he has to do fack all! On various occasions yesterday through the Craner Curves into the Old hairpin, Melandri would be seeming to be on the limiter into the turn before the hairpin, yet Stoner have a few more revvs to play with. Now that could just say to people he has the wrong set-up, to me it says he is not finding a set-up that he feels comfortable with.
I think the Ducati must be a very hard bike to ride, yet Stoner is doing something right to be able to actually ride the thing and get his World Championship. Yesterday he was pretty much faultless AFAIK. I mean you look at him on his Cecchinello(sp) ride, he wasn't the best but he wasn't the worst, yet, last season he was awesome on the thing, yeah it may have stuff to do with the traction control, so what, they all have it! This season he has been having problems
Another thing that leads me to believe that it is rider clicking with the bike is look at its past riders, Bayliss + Gibernau and now Melandri...Bayliss was never able to run at the top but TBH that was because they were in the developing stages with the bike (not to mention the bloke came back year before last and one the last race), but then we have Gibernau, moved from Honda to Ducati, injuries stumped him for a while but before and after, he was never convincing, the years before, winning races and making a nuisance of himself and to the championship. Melandri, another who was winning races but now is struggling to find his feet with the Duke.
Although I am a Rossi and a JT fan. To Stoner I say :notworthy::notworthy:
So is it the riders or the bike? Or is it both?
