Midlands suspension set up?

Can anyone recommend a place to go in and around nottinghamshire/Derbyshire to have suspension setup correctly for you weight etc......I have tried reading about it but just dont have a clue and my bike just doesnt feel right.

If anyone can recommend somewhere then that would be great. I can travel to somewhere if its got a particularly good review and reputation.....infact I would prefer somewhere with a good reputation.

Thanks

Is York too far?

The suspension guy I use here in Sydney (British guy) recommends him and I think he was also featured in PB recently

Spanner mans a good bloke but I don't know if he sets up suspension. He'll know someone local if it's not his speciality.

Anyway why do you need a shop to twiddle your screws? Make sure it's standard set up for a start then you can play with it.

I'll also add that you should choose wisely but you knew that ;).

First thing as Chris mention I think is to make sure all the adjusters(pre-load and damping/ride height) are in their standard position for starters.

Some of the forks these days have to be setup almost 'outwith' wih regards to convention.... in a manner of speaking.

Stuff changes all the time and even some of the so called 'suspension experts' haven't got a clue (read, have just fail to keep up...)

Funny and small world we live in :)

I was going to point you in his direction when I saw a post of yours saying , you wanted to get some work done. But then not long after, you stated you had already got it done so never bothered.

Good guy.....if a little 'off centre' lol . He certainly breaths 'suspension'. Quick on a CB-1 400 too...don't ask how I know haha

They were checked that they were in the standard settings before I picked it up from the shop. As for having a play from there myself.....people make a good living from doing it right, and I havnt a clue what the difference between rebound, compresion and preload is so will probably do more harm than good.

Theres 3 things on the front and 3 things on the back to twiddle with/mess up afterall :(.
