Engine Cut out doing 70 on A(M)1!!!
Yep, just passed the M1/M25 junction heading down the A(M)1 towards Stirling Roundabout... just over taken a police car and about to over take another car when the engine cuts out...
Bikes still moving forward so wheels are turning the engine, get the clutch in quick and try restarting the bike ( doin about 60 now!) and movin over to 1st lane... Starts up and off i go starting to re-overtake the car... get next to it and engine cuts out again! Try restarting and fail... Stick on hazards and clutch is in... coasting down the A(M)1... Almost at a stop when the plod car just overtakes and carries on! End up pushin the bike in small stints to the next available space on the side of the road that isnt on the dual carriageway... The Wrong Place To Run Out of Fuel!:smt086 Plenty of bikers passed me... Only 1 car stopped at the junction and asked me if i needed help... told him i needed fuel and he said "Hope you got someone comming, theres a petrol station a 5 min walk that way, but there are a couple of building sites just near by. Wouldnt leave the bike there!" Dad's rescue service turned up with a couple of liters to get me to stirling corner where i filled up again... only got about 120 outa the tank... not happy as usually get closer to 160 |
