Just found out my bike's been on it's side...

One of the guys came over to me just now:

"Yours the blue suzuki?" ... "I've just picked it up, it was laid on the floor, not on the side of the stand, the other side."

S**t, bugger, ok... so I gave the other lad a heads up (rides a Fazer) as he always parks in the same bay, and we both went to investigate.

Turns out the Fazer isn't on it's side, but is parked the same way as mine. I'm told there was a car next to us blocking the wind, and since the Fazer stayed upright, I really don't think it's the wind!

Looked over the bike, no sign of damage whatsoever - now I've had the bike fall over without support, and I got a broken gear lever & smashed fairing mounts for my troubles. In this case, no damage means to me that it's been laid down very gently and slowly!!

No idea how long it's been on it's side, so start her up & make sure everything is running correctly. Everything seems fine.

So, given I know there's no damage, but I suspect foul play, I've just asked the security staff to look at the CCTV footage taken today.

Wait till I find out who it was.... :smt067

Someone been playing "Im a biker, me" at lunchtime, and dropped it (lowered it) but been unable to pick it up again maybe?

They're going to get a shock next time they try it if that's the case.

Tonight, the tilt switch on the alarm will be wired directly to the horns from the battery. Regardless of the alarm state, if the bike falls over, the horn sounds... at least it'll get some attention. :D

maybe the bike did not fall, and the guy that said it did, and picked it up was trying to impress you?

Doubtful, as he's an ex-biker himself.

CCTV will tell me what's happened anyway, given that where I park is recorded 24/7 on a 60 day tape rotation.

G, that's the intention.

Another strange thing, the guy that picked it up, didn't straighten the right mirror.

When I checked on the bike, I noticed it wasn't out of shape that much, so sat on the bike to check, and it seemed fine, as if it hadn't been moved.

Hovis, it looks like your theory may hold some weight. I really do hope that it's someone in this company (multiple companies share the same building), that way, I'll be able to deal with it more personally. :-ddEither way, someone will be getting.. :smt067

I also just managed to bump into one of the directors for the building in the corridor, and mentionned it to him. His advice.. "park it in the bike bay, tell security that I've authroised it personally." The "bike bay" is a dedicated room within the building, which has more security on it than the server rooms and virtualisation labs do. :D

Oh thats a bugger Baph. I found my bike like that last christmas. Up on its stand, but the indicator was smashed. Couldn't for the life of me see any damage on the non smashed side though, suggesting noone had reversed into it. Still a mystery. Let us know what the CCTV outcome is.
