New to the site - just wanted to say hallo - passed my test beginning of May and bought an '02 plate SV650s and loving it - use it mainly to get to work :D. Blonde Question (yes I am blonde!) How do I tell if I have a pointy or a curvy SV ??

Welcome to the forum!!

You have a curvy one. If you look at the banner at the top of the page the SV on the left is a curvy, the one on the right is a pointy.

Also, Curvy is 99>02 and pointy is 03 onwards. (unless it's a late registered curvy one :) )

Curvy ones look best, and go fastest. Mine has been restricted for nearly two years becasue it was too fast. If it was a pointy, the goverment would have given me a turbo just so I could have a chance of hitting 30 mph

The easiest way to tell if you have a Curvy is to measure the distance between the fulcrum and the Spangle nut. If it is greater than 7/8 of a decilitre you know which it is. Duh, I thought every one knew that!... :smt077

if your still not sure, scroll to the top on the one on the right is pointy, so the one on the left must be curvy
