I use Alpha Sports to find the part number

http://alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm

Then Robinsons Foundry to find the price and then order online if need be, although any Suzuki dealer should be able to order the parts.

This is the price for a 2001 model Cam chain tensioner.

For which flavour of SV? I've got half a dozen in the garage for the carbed model... From assorted blown motors so I've never tested them but they all spring back properly.

I presume northy will be back from the AR soon, sounds like he has what you need.

Have you taken one off before? It helps to make a little tool to lock the tensioner back while you bolt it in.

Well not me personally :-)

Callum (Hubby) is pretty nifty, he used to make a living as a mc mechanic, very handy :~)

Sorry, I know yhis thread is old, but can't you just mount the tensioner without the spring and then mount the spring & tensioner adjuster bolt afterwards? That's what the manual suggests.
