Mallard - 126mph
On 3rd July 1938, Mallard achieved 126mph, still the fastest speed by a steam train.
What's this to do with SV's? Should my naked K show more than 122 on the clock ( on a private road or Autobahn ?? ) If not, what am I doing wrong? |
Re: Mallard - 126mph
I read this in Saga magazine today (haha, I work there, it's a great mag) and apparantly the Mallard was about two minutes from blowing up completely. I got mine to show about 131 on the old autobahns, but it was a slight incline at about 9krpm in top. I wouldn't worry too much, I'm 6'6" and only achieved this by basically sitting on the pillion seat, I was crouched that much. And that's aided with a double bubble screen. Plus, I'm sure your bike wouldn't blow up after 2 minutes...

Yep, it spun a big end bearing. I told them not to wheelie it :D
Heh, I just noticed that the A4s were triples. That puts Triumph in their place  |

Re: Mallard - 126mph
Does the Mallard still nest in York?
