KD on Pilot Roads 2?

Worth trying? Reckon I've got another 3 inches before I get the Knee down. Can't feel the tyre slipping, but don't fancy lowsiding into the wall.

And its the corner on the exit from the Wallasey -> Liverpool Tunnel.

Are they up to it?

More than up to it, just make sure they are bedded/scrubed in and up to temperature first!

Take it steady!

Yeah no worries at all, usual safety checks permitting. I used to do it on the standard SV's D220's. Pilot road 2's are a much better compound I think. Heck, I did it on my old GN250. Christ knows what that had on it's feet! :)

Lovely, looks like a late night trip through there is in order. WIll have been riding for about 9 miles so should be warming up.

Love the sound of the SV in the Tunnel!

heya

got my knee down on standard oe dunlops, however i always felt unsure of the grip, as though i was just waiting for them to just let go.

after 3500miles on the rear i switched both hoops to road 2s

and i wouldn't dream of going back to a single compound tyre

for above spirited road riding i am very pleased with these tyres.

oh and there great in the wet aswell provided you dont go silly

all the best cris

Knee down on almost anything if tyre warm and technique ok.

Check out the youtube videos on low-speed knee downs for proof. Even fat-assed cruiser riders can do it in a car park at 15 mph.

You'll be able to get ya kneedown ... then you will try again at the next turn/'bout .... so you will try again and the KD will be followed by your behind down as they randomly give way ... even though you have tried to warm them up ....

Re: KD on Pilot Roads 2?

I havnt had my knee down... Probably down to me never trying to (not my style) and me not having sliders. But ive used all the tyre (no chicken strips) and ive never had my tyres complain at me on normal dry riding.

I have had major wheel spin in the wet but I have a bit more torque to help make that happen.

Get out there and have fun but be careful, make sure the tyres are run in and that the tyres are warmed up before you give them grief. ;)

Do you want me to get Rich to bring his bike trailer when you stuff it? You've only been riding a couple of months - You're going to get hurt! (again)

Man if thats true your mental! You dont want to be riding out side of your ability and im willing to say you will be if you have been riding for less than a year! :smt075
